Student Art Work

Here are some examples of student art work from the painting class.   Some students have been studying with me for many months and some have just gotten started.   It’s so exciting to see students begin to break free and discover their own voice.

Usually it takes a few weeks for a student to finish a painting – sometimes even longer.

Michelle's painting "Ancestors"

Here are two first paintings done by students..  The assignment was to start with just shapes.  Look at what we can discover hidden in our mind’s eyes.

These two paintings were done by students who had a few paintings under their belts and were now exploring themes important to them.

Barbara's Tree

Barbara's Tree

Barbara explored positive and negative space with this painting.  Didn’t it turn out like an exquisite stained-glass window?

For anyone who is familiar with my work, you know that trees are a recurring theme.  If you look at work done by many of our famous, both dead and living artists, you’ll find that trees are a common theme.  You can read some of my thoughts on trees on my blog.

So it isn’t surprising that my students find themselves painting trees.

Another painting by Barb where she explored using words in the painting.barb words She used a technique of scratching back into the paint to write the word.

I’m just looking for some reasonably priced painting instruction, I have a little painting experience but am looking to take it to the next level.

Hi Pablo, As my classes are small, each student receives a great deal of personal attention and works at their own level. I offer 6 – two hours classes for $150 – which is a reasonable price. That breaks down to $25 for each two hour class. If you’d like a flyer or more info please send me your email so I can get that off to you. I do still have one spot in the Tuesday night class which begins a series of 6 classes next week.
